-MY ENTREPRENEURSHIP JOURNEY: HOW A SHY GIRL EVOLVED INTO BEING A BADASS AT MARKETING..—-
Am writing this due to popular demand on how I was able to create consistent sales on my books and coconut oil sales. To those that have been reaching out to me for this, sorry for the delay.
This is Bella and am going to be sharing with you my entrepreneurship journey.
After secondary school, I learnt how to make beads, all thanks to my mum. I was making for people. Mostly her friends. Then, I sold beads at 5000 naira. Cheap ones where not less than 3000 naira. That was big money….wait did I just say was.?? That IS big money biko
I was making money. Considering the fact that I didn’t have responsibilities. I wasn’t into make up, buying clothes or weavons then at all unlike now….a girl has to look good you know So I literally did not have anything to use my money for.
My mum has always been super supportive of me. In fact , she was the one marketing my products and selling them to her friends sef.
So the question was…. what did I use my money to do?? I recall that I made more than 20000 Naira then before I entered university. Shameful to admit, I can’t recall one thing meaningful not even a dress I bought with that money except to buy movies, junks and viju milk asin with a whole 20k ?? Now I know I was crazy!!
I never knew i could sell anything then , I used to wonder what I will do if my mom stops marketing for me because I never even tried to sell any myself.
Then, she would encourage me, tell me to start marketing but I was so scared. I never knew I would be this good at marketing and selling my products someday.
Just recently, we produced a new batch of coconut oil more than 3 times the previous quantity and we are almost sold out in less than two days! We have just one-tenth left and someone has already ordered it!
To top that up we now have three distributors and this business is just two weeks old… How did I achieve this??
Now, when I make a book post, so much engagements unlike before….we now have engagements on our post compared to six months ago.. How did I achieve this??….
How was I able to break out from being a timid person when it comes to marketing and now being a social media marketer?? My friends call me the student boss They are always teasing me to teach them the way… don’t mind them thou…am still learning o
This proves that we can be anything we want to be. See me o….a timid marketer to this.
In fact, people say I make noise too much on social media… do you know why?? Because if you don’t make noise nobody will notice you! Yes. Social media is overloaded with information. You have to keep making noise shamelessly till they notice you!
One of the principles I apply is getting people to look as our boss Czar will always say. This is principle one. I always bring it before them.
Always talking about it…. so after I get them to look I also apply another principle… In fact, I can’t talk with you and not pitch one of my products to you. It’s that bad!
I went to visit my sister in her lodge and one of her male lodge mates came around. We gisted and gisted. And viola! I pitched my coconut oil and how mixed with Shea butter helps to grow beards. To cut it all short. He left with a bottle. This is someone they say is hard to convince to buy a product. But he did in less than 20 mins.
This will be continued in the next series…. I can’t wait to share my entrepreneurship journey, how I evolved to be such a rebel marketer and how I transitioned into other businesses I do now….
